The client used the ContaSimple plugin for invoicing, but needed different numbering sequences depending on the type of product or service. The plugin didn't support that. They also needed to invoice both online sales and in-person sales from a point of sale, and to have a single order with products from different categories automatically generate invoices with separate numbering.

Solution in place
Custom development on WordPress/WooCommerce: 1) The ContaSimple plugin modified to support multiple invoice numbering sequences by product category. 2) A custom plugin for customer registration with complete tax details, so invoices are generated correctly and automatically. 3) WooCommerce POS (point of sale) installed for in-person sales, integrated with the same system. 4) An automated flow: when an order comes in, it's split automatically by product category, generating separate invoices with the matching numbering. All of it is invisible to the end customer, who can mix products in a single cart.
